as KOV said, do not use tape drive on the same controller on which HDDs are installed, use another SCSI controller for this purpose. the tape drive's I/O speed is very slow in comparision to HDD, so, when winodws boots up, the disks take more time than expected to respond when winodws sends a signal of "chekup" to the disk array. the cure is, never use tape drive on RAID adapter.
