Hello, Here is the solution for your problem:
1. Set the SCSI INFORMATION agent inactive through Compaq
Management Agents Applet under Control Panel. Allow the agents
to stop and restart themselves. Then reboot.

If this doesn't resolve the error, then:

2. Under Control Panel DEVICES, Disable the Compaq SCSI
Device Monitor (CPQSDM). Then Reboot

If at a later date you decide to install a Tape device to your onboard controller then you have to re-enable it. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact Tech Support at 1-800-ok-compaq.
