dl140 g3 sata hard disk

Hi all,

Sorry for my English I'm French and you should know we speek and write very bad in other languages ;)

Just new to this forum, I've read lot of post since 5 days.

I'll found a DL140 G3 to replace a personal server at home.

My question is simple, can i put my 2 x 1.5To Western Digital Sata into it???

Everywhere I'll see 500Go limitation for HP HD but what will happen if i put my disc into it?

Since I've got those HD i want to use them with the new server.

Hi,

worst case scenario when you put in the 1.5Tb disks: it doesn't work.

Upgrade firmware on the server (bios & array controller at least).

Hi after a week of use.

I can say it supports more than saied in all docs.

My 2 WD ATA ST31500341AS who are 1.5To each works very well.

I'v tried to fil them with linux command:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=1M

Then i put my whole pcs save to fill 78% of them.

All works very well.
