dl145 SLES9 RC5 not installing, stuck on formatting drive

I am trying to install the SLES9 (Suse) Demo on a new SATA DL145 G2 Dual Core server. It formats the disk then it hangs. I can install OpenSuse 10 with out any problem. But in OpenSuse 10 the drive has a iowait problem where certain jobs cause the iowait to shot up and the server gets really slow. Does any one have any ideas

I had to boot from the sp3 cd first to get a higher kernel that supports the dual core. It seems to be working now.

I am facing the same problem what you have mentioned here and the solution is not completely clear to me.

Do you mean that you booted server using the SLES9 SP3 cd and then actually installed rest of the packages from SLES 9 cd. But how that can work? Can you please explain the exact steps that followed?
