dl160 windows 2008 abrupt shutdown during installation

When i try to install the HP branded Windows 2008 x64 std edition, the DL160 will shutdown midway thru the install process and the system health LED will blink red.

It always happens on the same spot, when the installation process is halfway thru the green installation progress bar.

Any idea, it is related to bad RAM or board ?

Check the iLO logs. What error messages are posted in there?

Re: dl160 windows 2008 abrupt shutdown during installation

Have you set your boot device properly? Is it a RAID controller?

See this guide:

Hope this helps.

Re: dl160 windows 2008 abrupt shutdown during installation

The default SATA mode is set to AHCI. I tried changing to Compatible and RAID mode, and still facing the same problem.

There are 3x300GB SAS disk configured as RAID 0 using the F8 option.

What could be the issue here, drivers related ?
