dl380 / periodic array failures

I estimate that 30% of my dl380s experience perdiodic failures of the smartarray controller at reboot, where I'm prompted to rebuild the array. Once I do so (without replacing any hardware, including disks), things work normally again (for awhile at least). As the result of this problem, I've updated the firmware on the controllers to v 1.5 and the system bios to the 12/18/02 versions.

Anyone have any other ideas before I take other action?

Hello Matt,
I would seriously consider replacing the system board.

Re: dl380 / periodic array failures

You are saying that you have more than one DL380? So 3 of 10 DL380 experience this problem? This is only at reboot that the controller reports a problem. What is the actual error message? Have you done consistany check while the RAID is reported healthy? I would look for bad drives if they have all been in service, servers and HDs, the same length of time.
