help!

I have a dl 380 server with scsi 6i integrated controller.when I try to connect the external vs160 Tape drive I have this message:

776 slot 0 SCSI bus Termination error

Did you use Duplex backplane SCSI board?
And it is not recommended to attach tape to external RAID port.
