dl380p G8 Supported memory

I have a hp server dl380p G8, I'm afraid that my memoryies is not capatible... ! I can't find my memory specs but i know the part number pn:712382-071

Is this memory compatible with my server?
What is my memory model?

Hi,

712382-071 is a, 8GB PC3-14900R,512Mx4 DIMM, with Spare Part# 715273-001.

This part is used in DL380p and DL360p Gen8 servers.

so the memory with the part number 712382-071 is fully compatible with your server! Actually this is the part number of the dimms HP uses to install on some models of DL380p G8 servers.

the specs are as follows:

DIMM 8GB PC3-14900 R512 MX4

the only problem with that modules is that there are 3 producers of that model: Micron, Hynix and Samsung. And HP uses all 3 of them.

If the producer of your dimms is Micron i would replace the dimms with Samsung ones. Is my personal opinion and my experience with that producer was a bad one. from 5 dimms Micron replaced 3 were defective and 2 were false failures. I never had that problem with Hynix or Samsung. Do as you wish.
