dl580 G2 hangs

Hello,

server occasionally (lately once a week)hangs which is followed by the blue screen. After restart there is a POST error "1792-Drive Array Reports Valid Data Found in Array Accelerator".

Insight Diagnostics (offline) reported only one error:
EEPROM SCSI BACKPLANE - Checksum test failed
ERROR CODE 000000
EEPROM checksum is incorrect - SCSI BACKPLANE

Could that error be the source of occasional server hang?

thanks

Re: dl580 G2 hangs

Hi,

The SCSI backplane does have some logic on it so if this is the problem you will need spare part 231128-001.

Get HP to replace this if your system is still on warranty or contract. Otherwise you can obtain one from HP Partsurfer.

or Ebay.

Try the controller firmware first and also check if you still get the same insight diagnostic error with all disks removed.

I hope this helps.
