dlt 40/80 and Arcserve

Novell 3.2 with current patches, trying to load driver for Compaq DLT 40/80. Loaded cpqscsi.ham (ver 1.42 dated July27, 2000) just fine, except for an warning that reads: device compaq_dlt8000 has not been tested with this driver. Then I attempt to load dlttape.cdm (ver 1.00f dated feb 26, 1999) with an error of: driver had an error with device compaq_dlt8000; therefore, driver did not bind to this device.

Do I have the correct files, am I even loaded the tape drive correctly?

Thanks

Re: dlt 40/80 and Arcserve

I am not sure if this will work with 3.2 because I haven't use it in a while.
In 4.11 and 5.1 I load CPQSCSI.ham also need NWASPI.CDM and SCSI2TP.CDM. That way Tapesrvr can communicate with the tape. there is also a patch for Arcserve 6.1 that speed up the backup into the tape.

Hey thanks alot, I was missing the nwaspi.cdm. Loaded that and everything is perfect.

Thanks again.

Re: dlt 40/80 and Arcserve

I would advise you to remove SCSI2TP.CDM and NWTAPE.CDM. See the following customer advisory for details:

RagS!
