do number of Arrays affect performance?
hi
some question in my mind. do number of array we create affect perfotmance of I/O in Hard disks?
for example i have a DL 380 G7 with P410i controller and 4 * 300 GB SAS HDD.
if i create 1 array and put all HDD on that OR if create 2 array that everyone have 2 HDD, is there any performance difference?
assume array for RAID 1+0
thanks

Re: do number of Arrays affect performance?
If you divide the disks into two arrays (and supposedly two logical drives) the application would need to use both arrays/logical drives equally to get the same performance as if you had one array.

Re: do number of Arrays affect performance?
Hello,
No there will be no effect on the performance with the number of array .. That is a myth
Just in case you want to increase the performance you need to have a battery and cache module installed on the controller.
If, you require part number of the controller and battery let me know.
