drive errors on ML370 G3

For some strange reason, my system has been crashing a lot. Usually so bad that it won't restart unless I perform a ChkDsk.exe /F (otherwise it does a reboot loop at the black windows 2003 server screen). The crashes seem to occur during large file transfers to/from the server. I checked the error log and in the system, I see numerous drive related errors such as:

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0

also:
adpu160 reported error

Any ideas what could be causing this? Could the drive be failing?

Thanks

Re: drive errors on ML370 G3

thanks for your response.
at this point, the drive's nuked so i couldn't check those logs (i also didn't have insight manager configured at the time). but the event viewer keeps on showing errors for the controller and bad blocks for the drive in question, even after doing a low level format and fresh install. any thoughts?
