dvd-rom
we've bought from a Compaq dealer 12x/40x dvd-rom drive Compaq prod. number: 217053-b21 for our cl380 cluster - system recognizes it only as slave drive but windows2000 explorer hangs when we try to see avaialable devices there. although it's present in the device manager. HELP!!!

the only supported DVD option supported for the CL380 is opn 388481-B21
(will only function in NT 4.0 or W2K) -- this option will not function in conjunction with the low profile CD Rom already installed -- disconnect it. If you want, you could try to use the DVD you have purchased, but it is not certified to work

I have a somewhat similar question. I want to know if I can connect 2 IDE devices to a CL380 node. In particular I want to connect the low profile CD-ROM and a CD-Writer. Is that possible?
