expand logical drive on compaq 1850R

Hello,
i have an Compaq 1850R server and i need to expand the logical drive but because i don't have a battery bakup up cache i can't do it from the Comapq array configuration utility.
How can i expand the logical drive?

i forgot to mention: the array controller is a Compaq SMART 2SL

I believe the 2SL does not support Array expansion or Logical drive Extension.

Physical drive expansion is supported on 2/SL controller. Physical - only array is expanded, you must create new logical drive.
You muust have firmware up to date.

I think you have two option. The first and official way is probably a non runner, that is to backup, rebuild and restore (you could use imaging software). The second is to temporarily find an array controller that will support logical drive expansion, swap them, perform the expansion and then swap them back. If you do the second then make sure the array controller firmware and drivers are up to date.
