Re: external DVD Rom Not detec

According to the pictures, your DL360 has Smart Array 5i - so it must be either DL360 G2 or G3.

Here is the Setup and Installation Guide for DL360 G2:

http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c00687405-1.pdf

On page 114, the USB support is described:

"When using operating systems that support USB, [the server supports whatever the OS can support...]

For other operating systems, the ROM provides USB support for keyboard and mouse, but not for CD-ROM or diskette drives.

ROM legacy USB support is available during POST, DOS, and while the [legacy] operating system is running."

In other words, there is no support in BIOS for CD-ROMs (or DVDs, which can be handled as a specific variety of CD-ROM).

In addition, I did not see any mention about the speed of the USB interfaces - so they might be USB 1. Accessing a DVD-ROM through USB 1 would be rather slow.
