fan speed proliant g4p

The last week we have installed Netware 6.5 SP7 on our Proliant 350 G4p.
-Boot from HP ProLiant CD 7.92, then install netware.
-Boot from Firmware Maintenance CD 8.10 then install Firmware.
- We install psp-800 update into netware, reboot the server...
All without problems, but the fan speed is too high.

The server has to do nothing, but the fan speed does not decrease.
What else can I do?

Maybe the web tool will help?
I try to connect to http://server:2301 but there I have only anonymous login and can't do nothing. Where can I set the login and passwort for administrator account?

Hi,

the system management homepage uses the OS accounts, this means if you are logged as anonymous, you can logout(upper right) and then login with admin credentials. However, there is no option to change fan speed. you can only see error about failed fan f.e.

Do the fan speed decrease when you boot smartstart Cd or they are running without change from the beginning?
Can be you have a hardware problem(failed fan, systemboard sensor). Fan speed and noise is something relative.
You can try to reseat the heatsinks.
Be sure the server is not under some desk or something that prevents the normal airflow.
Be sure youhave suitable room temperature.

Hmm logout is no problem, but which login?
One of the Novell logins?
-admin
-admin.organisation.tree
The remote login from autoexec.ncf?

The speed decrease when I boot from Smartstart CD.
Before the installation of NW6.5 we had installed Linux OES on this Proliant G4p server. With this OS the fan speed also decrease....

I think the Airflow an the temperature in the room is no problem. There are 8 servers in this room, for example an 'quiet' NW6.5 SP7 Proliant Server GP4 (without 'p').
We have Air-conditioning in this room.

It must be an software problem...
