fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
b40/d0c/f00
I assume this to be a flakey I/O card but I hate to be a card swapper.
Anyone know how to decode the error?

Re: fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
can you check the ho integrated management log?
how many PCI crad do you have?
there is not other way, first try reseating PCI cards as a first troubleshooting step
also update System ROM
Regards

Re: fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
The second line of the error (error code is in hex):
b40=bus 64
d0c=device 12
f00=function 0
Doesn├в t help much but in the IML in the iLo there are entries for PCI Bus Error (Slot 1, Bus 64, Device 12, Function 0), unfortunately slot 1 is empty.
I have not updated the ROM yet though.

Re: fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
check if you have similar issue:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01243277
and basic troubleshooting:
1. Update Fw with Fw CD
2. Take out PCI(e/X) card one by one till you see where is the issue, try it in different slot
If this don't help open a new thread and give more info about the server and cards in it :)

Re: fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
Sorry for asking some stupid questions:
1. What do mean by "Fw" and "Fw CD" ? Which Firmware are you refering to ?
2. I have a PCI Error of Slot 1, but similar to Elmer, it is not used with NO cards installed.
I receive error for Slot 1, Bus 64, Device 12, Function 0 and then error for Slot 1, Bus 64, Device 11, Function 0

Re: fatal pci express device error pci slot ?86
Not Slot 1 is it ?
How did you find out it was the NIC card causing the problem ?
Do just have 1 NIC card installed ?
If you had more than 1, how did find out which one it was ?
..Sorry..too many questions at once...
but would really like to find out.
