firmware update for BF03685A35 Ultra320 SCSI drive
In ProLiant DL380 G5 server, I am using 6
HP 36.4GB SCSI Hot Plug Hard Disk Drives
15000 RPM
WIDE ULTRA320 SCSI
Model NO: BF03685A35
At boot time, a message is displayed advising me to upgrade the firmware on these drives to HPB4 or later.
However, when I go to the appropriate HP driver website, that particular model number is not listed. There are many model numbers listed, but not that particular model number. I am at a loss as to which firmware download I should choose.
Any pointers appreciated.
P.S. This thread has been moved from Disk to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL). - Hp forum Moderator

Re: firmware update for BF03685A35 Ultra320 SCSI drive
Easiest way to do it is to use the firmware maintenance CD from HP (you can download the ISO file from HP site drivers and downloads section). boot with the CD and upgrade the firmware.

Re: firmware update for BF03685A35 Ultra320 SCSI drive
This is the support page for old U3/U320 disks:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&h_client=S-S-R295-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=scsi+disk+drives (its under hot Pluggable U320/15k disks)
When you want to upgrade this old disks, you need to download an old Firmware ISO file, to create a bootable Firmware CD (because the new Firmware CD's dont support old disks). In your case that would be FW Maintenance CD 7.60:
Hope this helps,
