freeBSD with HP DL360G5

Dear friends, somebody can tell me if the operating system FreeBSD is compatible with HP DL360 G5. Where I can find information about this?

Hello Alex,

You can give it a try.

Download FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE iso images from:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i386/6.2/

Thanks

Re: freeBSD with HP DL360G5

I have a number of them running (dl360) and they are very stable. The only drawback is that HP system management tools for FreeBSD are not available or outdated. OTOH, FreeBSD base system and the ports have tons of system management tools.

It seems that HP has hired one FreeBSD programmer, so official support from HP may improve in the future. HP has also a testdrive program, where they are running FreeBSD themselves on two systems. See http://www.testdrive.hp.com/.

cheers,
