hard-drive replacment HP Proliant DL580 with errors

OK I just replaced a bad hard drive on my DL580. Problem is that it still will see the bad hard drive in the HP Array Configuration Utility a HP scsi/72gb and not the one that I replaced it with a HP scsi/36gb. So what might be the problem and how do I correct it.

Replace the defective hard disk with the same model. Because raid can be damaged.

HP brought me out three bad drives in one day. Make sure you put the same firmware on every drive. You can have problems if they don't match.

Not sure I understand.....you replaced the 72GB drive with a 36GB drive? Is the 72 GB drive configured into an array?

You have to go same size or larger to replace a bad drive. Do you have backups of the degraded array? I would get them.
