hard drive upgrade
The serial number listed may be wrong. I am a technician supporting the client that owns the server in question. The invoice # for the purchase of the server is 1042064.
There are currently two 9.1gb drives using smart-2sl array, raid1. The client would like to add 1-2 drives. Can I break the mirror, add two drives and stripe it without losing data?

Re: hard drive upgrade
No - this array controller does not support expansion of any direct kind. Any change to the existing array will result in total data loss. Now, this does NOT mean you can't create a second array on that same controller, but that new array will be independant. Whether this is a good option depends on what they intend to do with the new space...
