harddrive max size?

does anyone know the maximum size it will accept?

It all depends on what type of controller you are using. Are you using the on-board or a smart array controller. Also will these hard drives be Hot Plug or non-HP??

the on-board fast scsi-2 controller non hot plug

You would want to stay with a Wide Ultra SCSI3 Hard drive or any hard drive that is SE (single ended). Not like the Ultra2/Ultra3 hard drives that require LVD (low voltage differential). The highest you can go from Compaq is a Non-HP, 18GB, 10,000 RPM, 1.6 inch hard drive.
