hardware raid linux
I have two compaq servers running linux redhat 7.3
One is a ML350 (p800), the other is ML370 G2.
They are both running raid5s. The controllers are the smart arrays. I just had a drive blow out on the older one. I only found out by seeing the orange light on the drive. I would like to set something up that would send me more info about the health of my array and its hardware. I have installed cpqarrayd and it looks like it is running (via ps afx).
Has anyone used this or does anyone have any ideas?

Did you check the syslog?

You can get information and alerts on things like that from using the Insight Manager agents. There is also a new Insight Manager console that runs on Linux. Check out these links:
