heat problem ML350 G5 server

HI I work with the ML350 G5 server with 5 sata 250GB drives configured to two raid 0 arrays (2x HDD and 3 x HDD). I have noticed that the backplane of behind the HDD gets extremely hot. is this a known issue?
there isn't any place to put a fan near the drives.

i'm also using full size PCI cards (long)which do not help in the heating dispersal.

Do you see overheating in system management homepage?

And check your powersupplys - if they are older revision, this is probably the originator.

Re: heat problem ML350 G5 server

what were the problems with the old power supply and how do i know what revision i have?

Re: heat problem ML350 G5 server

It could be the "heating part".

And the revision stays on the powersupply itself - just plug it out and check. It stays a note with s/n, p/n and REV.

Re: heat problem ML350 G5 server

which PS revision has this problem?

How can the power supply couse a heating problem near the HDDs cage?

Re: heat problem ML350 G5 server

which OS is installed on the server ?

However you could try to update firmware on the server using the firmware maintenance cd.

It can cuased by the lower firmware revision on the HDDs.
