help w/ an ML 370 G-3, 101-I/O error

I have a new ML370 G-3, with dual 2.8 Xeons, 1 GB ram, 3/36.4 drives in a raid 1 array using a smart array 532 controller. I am getting the following error when it boots;

"101-I/O ERROR"

I have been able to get server 2000 loaded, but I need to figure out what is going on here. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the 101-I/O error likely refers to the 532 controller.

Try this, pull the 532 out of the server and re-boot. Does the error go away at POST?

If so, you may have a bad 532 Controller.

I'm sorry, I forgot to include an important part of the error. The actual message is;

101-I/O ROM ERROR

Again, it is seeing the 532 array card, and has let me install the OS. This error happens very early in the boot process, before it ever gets near the OS

Yes, yes... do the simple test of removing the 532 from the system and POST it without the controller... Does the error go away?

Make sure you are using bios version 2.58 on your 532 Controller:
