hot swap pci utility Win2k

I've just bought an old Proliant 7000 which is working fine, but I want to add a PCI card and I cannot find the hot swap utility anywhere! I've installed the utilities from smartstart 5.5, and I've downloaded just about every update I can find from HP support. However, whilst I have found the hot swap DRIVER, I cannot find anything other than an NT4 UTILITY. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Re: hot swap pci utility Win2k

hi david

there is no such tool for windows 2000 and 2003.

if you want to HOT ADD a pci card, you can use the hot-plug pci push botton just above the slot. you may also use the standard windows 200 way - there should be a litte ikon in the right bottom corner showing a green arrow and a small card.

hot add is only required if you want to add the card while the server is running.

if you are allowed to shut down the server it is more simple:

1) power off the server
2) install card
3) press f10 at end of post and go inti hw configuration. no manaul aettings required. just go there and say "save and exit"

best regards
