how to identify type of scsi controller installed
i have a proliant 800 with a pci scsi controller but i have no idea what type it is. in device manager of three identical entries...compaq 32bit ultra scsi controller /p...aren't those the on-board scsi controllers??

Hi
You can reboot server,press F10 to enter the BIOS(system partition),you can find SCSI Specification.
If you didn't installed system partition when configured server previously,you need reboot server with smartstart CD,select system configuration...

A PL800 with Pentium II/III CPU typically had a Symbios 53C876 dual channel wide-ultra SCSI controller embedded in the server.
