how to install windows 2008 server on hp server using hp smartstart

Hi. We have an HP DL 380 G5 that we're trying to install Windows 2008 Server enterprise x64 without Hyper-V on. We're using the HP SmartStart CD (tried both versions 8.00 and 8.10) to install Windows. We choose DVD media and flat file. When we browse for the Media Source we choose /mount/dvd. After his we get an error:

Invalid Entry :/mount/dvd

and cannot continue the install
How do i proceed from here

I had same error recently.
I think the smartstart CD/DVD isn't setup to work with server 2008 yet or has bugs when you choose 2008.

I installed 2008 server using the microsoft DVD. After that was installed, I ran the smartstart cd to install the HP drivers.

This worked fine.

Hi,
Have you install smartstart for 64-bit? there should be two smartstart cds, one for 32-bit and other for 64-bit. You try to install with 64-bit smart start cd. I should work.

There are known issues with the smartstart CD. I would recommend the first solution given.

you have 2 sd for smart start :
1.for x32
2/for x64
use x64 and use smart start v8.25
you can download from hp web site if you have not.
do you sure your smart start work correctly?
