hp DL 180 G5 controller E200 disable raid HW

I would like to disable the raid hardware to use software is it possible without hardware changes?

E200 controller can still handle the hot plug SAS hard drive?

You cannot disable the RAID function of the E200 controller.

You can't really disable the HW RAID. What you can do is configure each drive in an array by itself so you basically end up with several individual disks with no RAID.

Using any Smart Array controller you cannot just slip the drives into any system and access the data. Normally you can move drives between smart array controllers and still access the data.

Guess I did not make it plain enough.

You cannot disable the RAID function on any Smart Array controller (including the P400)

On your DL180, you can use the embedded SATA controller (if your using SATA drives) or you can install the HP SC44Ge SAS Host Bus Adapter for SAS drives

I want to use controller but no raid function!

It's a new feature? I known that in a old server was permitted (HP ML310)
