hp dds 12GB from ml350 to ml350G4

I try to install dds 12gb which was in old server ml350 (not with G*) to new one ml350 G4.
I've change nothing, only take the drive and the scsi cable with terminator and move into new serwer. But scsi controler don't see the drive and it hung up on seeking screen... . Tape drive and calble are good (work on old server). Officialy g4 don't support this tape drive, but I think I it should be. Am i wrong?
