hp psp problem

hello, i have problem with hp psp 8.12 on Proliant ML350g5 with RHEL 4. We have two servers. In first server, after installing psp and logining in SMH, i see "System Model: NULL". In second server after installing psp i have a perfect smh with all agents. reinstalling psp on first server did not help me. Looks like hp-snmp-agents not started, but all cma proccess is alive and no logs warning in /var/spool/compaq/cma.log. Anybody can help me?

Re: hp psp problem

Move "rocommunity public" below the dlmod statement (and don't use public as the community string!). Add "rwcommunity SOMETHING localhost" below that and restart the snmp service.

Re: hp psp problem

rwcommunity private 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
rwcommunity private cms-ip
rocommunity public cms-ip
trapcommunity public
trapsink cms-ip public

NOTE: The SNMP strings may vary and should match the one on the SIM server if there is one

Re: hp psp problem

rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
rwcommunity private cms-ip

Both of these are unnecessary. It is sufficient for there to be an rwcommunity for localhost. There is no need to have an rwcommunity for HP SIM to use as it never performs any SNMP write operations.

An rwcommunity needs to exist responsive to localhost as the SMH needs write access locally to set thresholds, clear logs and the like...

Re: hp psp problem

Ok, I try all your methods, but with no result. Because I have two ML350 servers (test12, test15), i just copy snmpd.conf from server where SMH running fine(test15). After restart all HP daemons and snmpd, i see no changes with HP SMH(test12 server). What i done all this time:
- reinstall all hp psp - ok
- check snmp connection by snmpwalk - ok
- check iptables - ok
- check netstat and what i see:
test12 udp 0 0 127.0.0.1:25393 0.0.0.0:* 5109/cmanicd
test15 raw 0 0 0.0.0.0:255 0.0.0.0:* 7 31557/cmanicd

I think this trouble from hp-snmp-agents. Any thoughts about this?

Re: hp psp problem

I'm resolved problem. If you have this problem change SELINUX=disabled in /etc/selinux/config.
I had SELINUX=enforced. Thanks all
