This is the only drive I could find and I could not get it to work on CentOS. I had to use RHEL 5.1. Without the driver you raid set WILL fail!!!

So you waived with CentoS?

Do Storage Manager work with Red hat?

Are the smartmontool not good?

I eventually installed RHEL 5.1 the Sata driver would not install on CentOS 5.1. Perhaps Oracle linux would also work.
Smartmon tools will probably work just fine.

I have a question.
Did you try to manage RAID with smartmontool on CenOS?
I have done raid but I see /dev/sda and /dev/sdb..

If you setup raid in the bios and did not install a driver than your raidset will faill. I happened to mine and then I had to install RHEL 5.1. So I didn't bother with smartdmon on CentOS.

No it did not try Fedora.
But perhaps if you use an older version of Fedora that has a kernel version that's supported by the HP driver it might work.

no I'm referring to Zakie Baihaqi that installed centos4.4 with the driver...

Did you do the same with Centos5.1? or did you install the driver from rpm?

I have installed red hat but i have the same problem....
I have sda and sdb....Shouldn't I have a one dev??

I installed also the Store Manager... but no controllers were found..
