hp storageworks dat 72 with windows server 2000

I have a hp proliant ml 350 server,with windows 2000 server and i installed hp storageworks dat 72 and i configured driver for that. but now in device manger it shows tape drive with proper instalation of driver but when i try to take any backup tape drive is not detecting. please help me to solve this problem

Is the Drive visible under Physical location in Computer Management.

You may want to check if the Diagnostic Tool HP Storageworks Library and Tape Tools detects the drive and passes the test.

i woud like to say thanks for your reply, i got the solution for that the problem was it was not initioted in bios, any way thanks for your good reply.

Hi,

Pls tell me that its a external dat or internal.
And if external then make sure that u connected the terminator or not. As i think there is a switch to make terminator active or passive. If not installed then make switch to active. And Check that its detecting in the BIOS or not. Pls check the id of the dat drive also. And run the HP L&TT tool to diagnose that where is the problem, Its surely helps u.
