i/o address conflicts when Ultra-wide 2 scsi's (cha) are enabled

I've installed CO Open server 5.0.5 on Proliant ML530, using the oss604a boot disk, and the Efs5.38 BALD disk.
using boot: defbootstr link="hiss" ad=Sdsk from=ad(0,0,0)
# this was taken from doc disk.
All recommended sco patches are installed, and the full 5.38 efs disks.

All the hardware is configured and seems to work ok, (tape is id4, lun=0 bus=0 ha=0 on the cha driver), but if I type:
hwconfig -hc
i get the usual hardware details, plus pages of i/o address conflicts i.e:
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x44fc
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x44cf
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x447e
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x442d
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x4400
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x40d7
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x40b2
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x4085
*** There may be an I/O address conflict at address 0x4061
etc etc.
These values conflict with both cha adapters, and the nic card. The address range is not is any order.
The only way I've found to stop the conflict is to disable the Cha adapters using smartstart, but that means I have no tape drive.
My SCO technical support think this is hardware errors!! but the compaq tests all work okay.

Any suggestions

Cheers
