Re: iLO 2 Responds to Ping yet cannot connect via http/s

Try to use RDP to remote into the server and then use SMH to check/verify the iLO port security settings and interface status?

Re: iLO 2 Responds to Ping yet cannot connect via http/s

Hi all -

HPONCFG.EXE shows port 80 and 443 configured as expected. When logged onto the server via RDP, the Management Processor status is Enabled, NIC Condition OK, and it is in a green state.

I haven't connected a laptop directly to the iLO port. Do I need a crossover cable?

Hi Megan,

Can you explain exactly what happens when you try to connect to the iLOs ?

If you're using Internet Explorer, what error does it display ?

Cheers,

Rob

IE displays different errors depending on if I am using the IP vs. the hostname. If using Firefox, the error is "The server at x.x.x.x is taking too long to respond".

No, I haven't tried the Direct Connect yet. I am using Firefox 3.0.16. It make take me a couple of days to get back to you regarding the direct connect.

Re: iLO 2 Responds to Ping yet cannot connect via http/s

To rule out any browser or proxy errors, have you tried telnetting directly to the port 80 or 443 on the iLO and see if it connects...

As Rob Leadbeater wrote if telnet connection to 80 and 443 ports not successful, I think it rules defined on network switch, proxy, etc. Try to direct connect to iLO, maybe temporarly from other server.
