iLO AD integration on port 636

Hi

Please can someone confirm if iLO MUST  connect to AD using SSL port 636?

For example - if the below fails to connect then iLO integration with AD CANNOT work

1. Start the Active Directory Administration Tool (Ldp.exe).
2. On the Connection menu, click Connect.
3. Type the name of the domain controller to which you want to connect.
a. You must use a proper DNS name for the SSL test to work.
4. Type 636 as the port number and check the SSL box
5. Click OK.

I can connect using port 389 using Ldp.exe without the SSL checkbox ticked but using Ldp.exe on 636 with SSL fails to connect - I'm I correct in thinking that until I get this sorted I won't be able to integrate iLO with AD???

many thanks in advance

Re: iLO AD integration on port 636

My testing is show the answer to be Yes to the below - it MUST connect over port 636 with SSL as attempts to use 389 failed. And until I got LDP.exe working over 636 with SSL iLO didn't work either. Once LPD could connect over 636, iLO could also connect over 636.

This is only my own testing so happy to others to suggest otherwise.

Hi

Yes, you are right connection using SSL, iLO initiates SSL handshake and negotiation and LDAP communications with the directory server through port 636.
