iLO2 access via proxy server

Hi Everyone

I have a Proliant DL360 G5 server who's ilo2 console is only accessible via a specific proxy server.

Access to the ilo2 console via the proxy works fine, however the remote console fails to connect.

I suspect that the java client requests are not being routed via the proxy.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks

Re: iLO2 access via proxy server

Well, it could be because of the port that the remote console uses - I am not sure, but I think it is port 23... Try it again ;) (normally this port isn't included in the range of the http proxies for example).

Re: iLO2 access via proxy server

Those are the default ports used by ILO2:

Secure shell (SSH) Port - 22
Remote Console/Telnet Port - 23
Web Server Non-SSL Port - 80
Web Server SSL Port - 443
Terminal Services Port - 3389
Virtual Media Port - 17988
Shared Remote Console Port - 9300
Console Replay Port - 17990

Re: iLO2 access via proxy server

Have reassigned the console from port 23 to port 17987 as the networks team would not permit the use of port 23.

Alreay aware of the various ports used by ilo2. I have serveral boxes on the same network which work fine. Its only when a proxy server is sitting between the client and the ilo2 console that there is an issue.

Re: iLO2 access via proxy server

If you have routers, you can try to route the port 23 for example...
Is your proxy an HTTP one, socks 5 or?
