ilo in p class enclosure

What is the best way to change the IP range used by the iLos in an enclosure without powering off the enclosure?

Colin:

The iLo's get their IP Address either from DHCP or fro ma static configuration.

To change the Addresses, you do not need to power off the Enclosure. If they use DHCP, change the scope in your server and then reset the ilo's. You can do this manually by going to each ilo, logging in and resetting it (it's a soft reboot) or there is a scripting utility you can use to hit them many at a time.

You can also shut down the servers individually, remove them from the enclosure for a few moments and then replace them back and boot up.

Hi,

Follow the following steps.
1. login to server with administrator or your admin account
2. Copy "hponcfg 1.2" folder on D drive from attachement
3. Open configure_ilo.xml file in notepad from "Zip file" folder
4. Modify IP_address Value, Gateway_IP Value, DNS_NAME_Value
5. Type this command from command prompt "D:\HPONCFG 1.2>hponcfg.exe /f configure_ilo.xml
