in deep Smart Array & Win2000 knowledge

my customer wants to fine tune its proliant smart array (don't know which models, but in general for every SmartArray) with Win2000 server O.S. and wants to know the best driver and some tips to do that.

Anyone has this kind of knowledge ?

thanks for your help

Re: in deep Smart Array & Win2000 knowledge

Each server needs to be "tuned" for the application running on it. But most of the time this means setting up the RAID volumes properly for maximum performance. Different applications will have different setups, so there is no perfect solution for all servers. The main thing that you can tune with Smart Controllers is the controller cache read/write ratio (set in the Array Configuration Utility- ACU), but again, this depends on the application. For drivers, just use the latest version on the ProLiant Supprot Pack (PSP).

You might look at some of the white papers on HP's Active Answers web site ( to get an idea of how to set up the arrays. You should also look in appendix x of the ACU User Guide.,1027,5108-6-100-225-1,00.htm
