inconsistent information about CPU typs in ML110 G5
Hi Folks!
Can somebody tell me which CPU is running in a ProLiant ML 110 G5 Server? IтАЩm especially interested in a precise answer about Intel Xeon X3120 (3.16GHz, 6MB L2, 1333 Mhz FSB).
The server specs say: YES (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/de/de/sm/WF06a/15351-15351-241434-3328424-3328424-3577708.html), even if that CPU seems not to be shipped by factory.
ROMPaq Firmware description says: YES (since 2008.07.15 (A) )
Customer Self Repair says: NO
(http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01438045)
I seated that CPU, and after powering on the Server, the fans start at high speed, but they do not reduce their speed after a few seconds, and I do not get any display output. After about 25-30 seconds, the three LEDs on the keyboard flash once for a few seconds тАУ but thatтАЩs all what happens.
Can somebody give me a hint?
Thank you!
Peter

Re: inconsistent information about CPU typs in ML110 G5
It seems that the best information was in the ROMPaq Firmware description: the X3102 CPU works well.

Try updating the BIOS, with the old cpu. Then try the new one.
