Sorry. I mean, did you put cables in all 3 ports?

Re: integrated lights-out NIC

i have tried all the ports and get the same message. i rebooted the system each time i changed ports in hope this would solve the problem.

i have also deactived the ports in hopes this would help but it didn't.

i have tried different cables but no solution.

Re: integrated lights-out NIC

If I understand you correctly.

You have testet with a cable in both nic ports.
But only 1 cable at the time.

That will leave 1 port un-used. That will give a link failure.

Somewhere in the System Management Homepage, you can tick it to ignore unused ports.
I can't remember exactly where.

Re: integrated lights-out NIC

It's ok to use 1 port only.

But you will get a link down un the unused.

If you open the System Management Homepage.
You will also get a degraded status on the unused NIC port.
There's a tick box, on the SMH, to ignore.

In the old days Compaq used to ship a nic loopbackjumper with new servers, to put in unused ports.

But try this:
See if you can disable the unused nic in the RBSU (BIOS setup)
or Tick ingnore check box on the SMH.
Try to check the nic agents, it might pe possible to set igenore there also.
(Control Panel > Management agents > Nic agents).

I will be away next week.
