intel 82801fr sata raid controller

I have two 80 GB disks installed in our ProLiant ML310 G2 with the above raid controller.
They are in anrray with raid 1, installed in slot 0 and 1.
Is it possible to add two more disks (to slot 2 and 3) to set up an new array with the two disks?
How should it be done?

Re: intel 82801fr sata raid controller

This is the integrated SATA controller isn't it? The quickspecs for the ML310 G2 server mention the SATA controller.

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12168_na/12168_na.html

However there is something inconsistent in the quickspecs.

in the "At A Glance" section, they mention "four channel SATA controller"

in the "Storage Controllers" section they mention that "Integrated SATA RAID functionality supports 2 hard drives".

in the "Maximum Internal Storage" section they mention
"Hot Plug SATA (3.5") 2.0TB 4 x 500GB SATA"
"Non-Hot Plug SATA 320GB 4 x 80GB SATA"

in the "Models" section they mention several times
"Storage Controller Four port Integrated SATA Controller"
"Hard Drives None ship standard (up to 4 hot plug SATA or SAS drives supported)"

The service guide shows 4 SATA disks with cabling on page 47 (non hot plug).

I would think 4 SATA drives are supported. After you install them you have to use the raid configuration utility to configure them. See the user guide on pages 64-66

If you have ACU installed, you can use it as well to configure the drives. After you configure the drives you will see a new disk that you can partition and format in the OS.
