invalid date/time!

Dear all,

i brought a new HP Server ML 350 G5, everytime i go to the 'ROM-Based set up utility' to set date and time, it prompt to me ( invalid date/time! changes not saved! )
anyone have an idea.

Note: no OS runing on the server

hi you have a little battery called a cmos battery remove it and put it back in nice and firmly if issue continues buy a new batttery
they cost a couple of euro you can buy them almost every where

the picture shows where it goes turn servr off first and remove power cord too

HI,

U can check from RBSU by pressing F9(Rom base setup utility), check serial no, product id is correct or not, if S/N , product id is not set then set S/N and product ID then set date and time. Hope. it will resolve ur issue.

Hi,

for me it looks like you have bad time format.
One thing you can do is to set all to defalt in BIOS ( even it is default--it is new ), you can try this ( path is "advanced options--and there you will find stuff to reset values to default ), but time format is suspicious.

hmm joe i did not read your post too quick before

but here goes

clear nv ram

clear nvranm
Clearing the system configuration
To clear the system configuration:
1. Power down the server

3. Remove the access panel look at the diagram on it it will show the position of the maintenace switch( it clears Nv ram)
4. Change position 6 of the system maintenance switch to on.
5. Install the access panel
6. power up the server .
7. Wait for the POST message that prompts you to change the switch setting:
Maintenance switch detected in the "On" position.
Power off the server and turn switch to the "Off" position.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 3.
9. Change position 6 of the system maintenance switch to off.
10. Repeat steps 5 through 7.

no if issues still occurs reflash the bios
