memory >4Gb not seen after upgrade w2k3 standard to enterprise

A Proliant ML370 G4 with the newest BIOS updates and Support Pack 7.40 installed has 5Gb physical memory installed. But because Windows 2003 SP1 server standard was installed, it only showed 3,5Gb (why not 4Gb??). I installed Windows 2003 SP1 server enterprise but after this reinstallation it still sees 3,5 Gb. I have already installed PSP 7.50 (just new), and scanned for hardware changes, but no go.
HP System Management homepage tells me that 5Gb is installed and in use by the OS, so hardware is no issue.

Does anyone know how to address the additional 1Gb? Thanks!!

You need to add PAE switch to boot.ini
See "Large memory support is available in Windows Server 2003 and in Windows 2000"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283037/en-us

And see this advisory regarding 3.5 Gb issue
"Not All Physical Memory May Be Reported By The Operating System On Certain HP ProLiant Servers"

Hi,

You need to enable PAE mode for accessing memory more than 4Gb.

edit boot.ini & put /PAE in the last.

Thanks! The PAE switch did the trick.
