I have a couple of Compaq ProLiant ML370, which each has a single PIII 1GHz/133MHz and a couple of 128MB DIMMS.
I took one of the DIMMs into our local computer store to see if I could get an upgrade. They gave me DIMMs that look like they should work when I compared what was written on the label - ecc 133MHz etc etc. It fits and everything, but when I plug it in and switch it on, it isn't recognised - it only recognises the 128MB DIMMs that were already in there.
Can someone enlighten me? Is there an online installation guide?
Thanks.
Max.

Re: memory installation problem
Maximum memory: 6144MB
Standard memory: 256MB removable
Slots: 6 (3 banks of 2)
SDRAM, PC133 ├в ┬в CL=3 ├в ┬в Registered ├в ┬в ECC ├в ┬в 133MHz ├в ┬в 3.3V ├в ┬в 128Meg x 72
Would bet that your local computer store doesn't have it and may be slightly propriatary at $469

Re: memory installation problem
Looking at the Kingston web site leads me to think that the memory is nothing special. Am I wrong?

Re: memory installation problem
Kingston:
http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=+9034+&distributor=0&submit1=Search
Crucial:
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Compaq%2BProLiant.&mfr=Compaq&cat=RAM&model=ProLiant+ML370.&submit=Go
Crucial prices are generally lower and I'm told they have excellent support.
