I have a feeling I know the answer, but I thought I'd throw this out here before rebuilding the system. I have an ML350 G4 that has a software RAID 5 array across 4 disks that was built about a year ago. This is not the system drive (no redundancy). The array has around 800 GB of data written to it. Another admin built this server and I didn't realize it was a software array until we went to upgrade to a new 6402 controller. Is there any chance I can migrate this array to the new controller without having to migrate the data to a new location, rebuild the array on the new controller and then migrate the data back? The current controller is a Ultra320 SCSI 2000 series. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hello Jeff,
Afaik,the answer is no.
At some point of time or the other during the configuration, it may suggest to format disks.
So the option is to create a new array and restore from a backup.
In addition, diskpart may not be applicable in this situation.
