mirror raid card
i am planning to buy an ml350 G4 with 4 giga of memory and 4 scsi 73 giga drives to work a compiere erp under ubuntu 6.06 actually running on ml110 2gigas on an 73 scsi drive.
i want to have oracle running on one disk and compiere on the other and with mirroring on the 2 other.
i am not sure the raid card could handle this configuration
anyone to help

you should have no problem with it
you know what raid card will be used
even better you can make it with
Duplex SCSI backplane p/n 371722-001
if needed throw on the different channels

I suggest you to protect all data. It's not good enough your protection if you want to avoid downtime. Maybe your database is safe, but if you loose the OS disk your will be down for a time that depends of your recovery stratege. You may configure as RAID 5 all the 4 disks and protect yourself agains failure of any disk.
Any RAID controller can handle RAID 5.

My HP dealer has suggested to buy a G5 instead of a G4p which happen to be ending its life.
will see if my budget allows it!
