mirroring after install

when we bought the server it had only 1x36gb 15k scsi disk, is it possible to stick another disk of the same size in and get the system to mirror the origional disk onto the new disk without having to reinstall any software ?

Cheers in advance

Re: mirroring after install

Gareth,

According to the document referenced below, there is a migration path from RAID0 (striping) to RAID1 (mirroring), but I'm pretty sure your existing configuration of 1x36GB must have been setup using hardware-based RAID:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00257511/c00257511.pdf

Is this the case? Are you using an array controller in the server and if so, which model?

Re: mirroring after install

gareth;
sure it is possible stick another disk.
after you plug in you can see the disk as following;

#ioscan
and
#ioscan -funCdisk

and check is there mirror-ux installed or not,
#swlist -l fileset|grep -i mirror

if it's installed tell me ,i will post you howto mirrorinf disk step by step with mirror-ux
