ml110 g6 ipmi+serial over lan
I configured ipmi and got http and telnet access to ipmi.
I installed Suse linux and configured serial port console in grub and inittab.
Then I connect by telnet to ipmi and execute
/./-> cd /system1/console1/
/./system1/console1/-> start
I see text grub, kernel boot messages, and linux login prompt, but I can not type anything. Like keyboard not working.
The same in ipmitool. Everything works:
# ipmitool -U admin -P admin -I lanplus -H 192.168.5.137 power status
Chassis Power is on
except
# ipmitool -U admin -P admin -I lanplus -H 192.168.5.137 sol activate
I can see the console messages, but can not type.
Help me, please.

Re: ml110 g6 ipmi+serial over lan
I've been having the same problem.
I found that I actually needed to have a real physical keyboard plugged in, then I can enter text OK from the virtual serial console.
