I have (2) 18 gig scsi drives setup as Raid 1 array.
I want to install (2) 36 gig scsi drives to replace the 18 gig drives.
Can I pull (1) 18 gig and replace with 36 gig and have it rebuild the array? Once that is complete pull the other 18 gig and replace with 36 gig. Then rebuild the array.
Once that is complete can I expand the size of the array to fit the entire hard drive?
Thanks,
Steve W

Re: ml350 532 raid controller larger hard drives
I tried the Ghost. It recognized the raid as 1 drive and was able to create an image.
However when I went to restore it stopped about 1/3 and gave a 25002 error. Went to Symantec's site and it said I need to defrag the hard drives or use the -NTC- switch.
Have you seen this before?

Re: ml350 532 raid controller larger hard drives
I have used Ghost with different Proliant servers/SmartArray and never seen this error.
Probably you use old Ghost version
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/pfdocs/1998082411252125
We currently use Symantec Ghost 8.x , but I never seen this error with older Symantec Ghost versions as well.
Anyway, you can try to use Acronis True image or other similar software as well, or you even can use built-int ntbackup tool.
Just with ntbackup you need to do additional job: backup with ntbackup, replace SCSI drives, install windows and do restore from ntbackup.

Re: ml350 532 raid controller larger hard drives
I defragged drive C and ran ghost with the
-NTC- option for both backup and restore and was finally successful after about 5 hours.. :)
